Ryan specializes in product strategy and design for mobile and social. He works with early stage startups to advise, define, iterate, and launch fun and usable experiences like Citymaps—winner of the Best New App in the Apple App Store, June of 2014.
Before resuming startup life, Ryan worked as a UX designer on Google Search. His focus was on the Ask Google UI for web, mobile, and tablet. In 2009, Ryan was at Myspace where he helped destroy and reinvent the social network with a focus on entertainment and music, and later to lead the UX and design team for mobile.
In the beginning, he kicked it off at a handful of startups that crashed and burned during the first dot-com bubble, quickly learning what worked and what didn’t. Ryan holds a BFA in design from the School of Visual Arts and is an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Recently he began thinking about how the Internet of Things (IOT) is emerging and attempting to change user behavior for better or worse.
