Imagine that you have a spreadsheet containing every data point about your customers — their preferences, their web browsing behaviour, the products they’ve bought. What would you do with all that information? When you know SQL fundamentals, you can slice and dice that data any way you want, providing critical insights that drive business strategy.
This 2-Part SQL Course is the beginner level interactive way to get started on data analysis and handling. You will dive head first into SQL, skill up with exercises, and by the end of the day you'll write queries with confidence and distill insights from real-world data.
This workshop is for beginners. No prior knowledge or experience required.
NOTE: this class will not be recorded, however, slides will be sent within 7 days following the session.
Joana is a data aficionado with a passion for education. Her ambition is to help people demystify the world of data and make analytics second nature while having fun.
Having worked both in strategy consulting and industry, she's had projects across retail & wholesale, supply chain and financial services. In her last 8 years of experience, she's spent most of her time doing financial modelling, building bespoke data analytics products and wrangling data - a lot of it! This has required her to not only be able to technically develop solutions but also understand the wider business context and relate to people's needs, which she tries to embed in her teaching style.
She currently works as a Data Engineer in a fintech startup helping people lead better financial lives. When she's not knee deep in queries she is most likely on top of a mountain, on a yoga mat or flying a drone.
In recognition of her exemplary service in the classroom, Joana has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program.
