About This Class

Now that you’ve got a wireframe, let’s make it interactive by turning it into a clickable prototype in Figma. This is where UI and UX come together.

This free, two-hour session gives you hands-on practice creating a clickable prototype from a wireframe in Figma. First, you’ll learn about the basics of prototyping and why it’s crucial to the UX design process, plus get a crash-course in MVPs (minimum viable products). Then, you’ll get to work in Figma — using frames, overlays, screen delay, and horizontal scrolling — to turn your wireframes into clickable prototypes.

Whether your goal is to add UX design skills to your resume, or to completely pivot into a UX design career, you’ll leave this series with a solid foundation of UX design basics to build on in one of our short courses or bootcamps.

Takeaways

  • Understand what prototyping is, why it’s crucial to UX design, and when to use it.
  • Learn the what, when, why, and how of MVPs (minimum viable products).
  • Get hands-on practice with Figma fundamentals like connecting frames, overlays, screen delay, and horizontal scrolling to create a clickable prototype.

Preparation

  • This is a beginner-friendly series, so no prior knowledge is necessary.
  • Make sure you’re set up with a free Figma account if you plan to follow along live. Keep in mind, this part is optional.
  • A recording of this session will be sent at the end of the full Skill Seeker series.
  • This session will be held in a Zoom webinar, so your mic and camera will be off. We’ll interact through the chat, Q&A, and reactions.
