About This Class Series

Companies from startups to large enterprise organizations are increasingly adopting a "lean" approach to their product development and design process. Both designers and non-designers working on a project are expected to rapidly understand needs, propose solutions and synthesize feedback. Creative problem solving and conceptual thinking are skills demanded of everyone on a project team.

How do we design and create solutions when we don't know all the answers? How do we present unfinished, conceptual work to stakeholders? How do we strike a balance between validation and analysis paralysis?

Over the course of two days, students will discover how to transform an idea to a ready-to-pitch, validated minimum viable product.

They will learn lean requirement gathering methods, validation methods and how to apply interaction design and usability principles and common user interface patterns to quickly develop working prototypes. They will learn and use a popular prototyping tool to quickly iterate and improve their concepts based on user feedback..

Lastly, they will learn methods and tactics for effectively presenting and pitching their work.

Product managers, user experience designers and developers will find that they can directly apply these skills to their projects to rapidly deliver improvements—regardless of budget or team size.
