About This Workshop

Struggling to get coverage for your brand? Can’t understand why your content isn’t landing on social media? Aspiring to a career in PR? Or just wanting to up your media skills?

This class is designed to provide the fundamentals of what it takes to deliver effective public relations that deliver a measurable impact. Covering the basics of what PR is, how to build a strategic PR campaign, how to pick your tactics and what measure, you will learn about the essential components of communicating your company’s story in an age when newspapers are no longer enough.

There will be an opportunity for you to take these skills and try them out yourselves, as well as to get a glimpse of where the industry is heading next, with a brief summary of why purposeful communications can’t be beaten.

Preparation

Participants who will benefit the most from this class will already possess good to advanced oral and written communications skills and will follow the news and social media on a regular basis.

Natalie is a Communications Account Director at Kin&Co, a culture and behaviour change consultancy that empowers people to create a happier, healthier world. With over eight years' experience in corporate, not-for-profit and consumer communications, she has worked with leading brands including IKEA, Unilever, HuffPost, The Fairtrade Foundation and Ella's Kitchen. A firm believer in the power of strategic, integrated and creative storytelling, she is passionate about brand activism and building movements with purpose, trust and social change at their heart. Natalie is also a trained journalist and worked as a TV researcher before making the move into PR.

Senior Account Executive,

Chelsea is a Senior Account Executive at Kin&Co with almost four years of industry experience, both in-house and agency. Her past work covers a broad spectrum of consumer and corporate, including not for profit and charity and she is a believer in the power of strategic communications to facilitate positive change in business and beyond. Chelsea has previously helped address the skills deficit in one of the UK’s key industries, and has been involved with a mentorship scheme with BME PR Pros, an initiative that aims to promote BME diversity in the communications sector.
