Equity in Tech: How We Can Do Better | Charlotte

About this event

The tech industry is incredibly powerful — not only through the products created, but with its economic force (forecasted to reach 1.7 trillion in the US in 2020). With great power comes great responsibility. Tech can – and must – do better to create and nurture diversity, equity and inclusion within the industry.

General Assembly is teaming up with Tech Can Do Better, a movement started by Black employees from tech giants around the country to fight for equity in the workplace. Join us for a panel discussion on the current landscape of diversity in tech, what is needed to make change, and how individuals can hold their employers accountable for lasting impact.

As our friends at Tech Can Do Better have stated, “We are inviting you to aid us in our mission. Shape a better future as you have always strived to do. We are depending on you. We can and we must #DoBetter.”

Takeaways

  • The tools and strength to advocate for real, sustainable change.
  • An understanding of the intersection between innovation and DEI.
