About this event

Overview:

The Google Assistant's mission is to help users get things done in their world! Join us at GA for a talk with Brad Abrams (Product Manager for Google Assistant), who will explain how to plug into the Google Assistant services ecosystem. He'll cover everything from understanding the business use case and high level user interface design to implementation and growing usage. By the end of this session, you should have a better understanding of the Assistant service ecosystem and how to get started.

This event perfectly complements the ongoing Actions on Google Developer Challenge -- participants have until August 2017 to build and register apps for the Google Assistant on Google Home, select Android devices and the iPhone.

There will also be a special talk from Allen Firstenberg (GDE) on "Common Issues & Best Practices" that will be invaluable for developers who want to take on the challenge. The event will end with a short Q&A segment with both speakers. Participants are encouraged to share any ideas, projects or demos they may be working on (with Google Assistant) for feedback!

What You’ll Take Away:

Attendees will get a 360-degree perspective on the Google Assistant ecosystem, from design challenges (for conversational UX) to development options and business cases that benefit from such applications.

Why it Matters:

Conversational UX, Smart Assistants and AI are dominating the technology space, marking a natural evolution of user interactions from typed input, to touch, and now to voice. Huge advances in machine learning, natural language processing and hardware will make such conversational UI/UX the norm and not the exception, for future apps and interactions.
