API security has always been an important topic. Identity management, access level control, applying AI to API behavior to anticipate attacks are complex solutions to implement well.

At the same time, attackers have always more incentives to hack APIs. Because of the platformization of the economy, assets are now concentrated into specific apps. And because of the challenge of building open ecosystems, these valuable platforms need to open their core capabilities and data on top of their ecosystems via APIs.

That concentration and opening at the same time is the magic formula for a honeypot to attract all attackers. Because of these new API threats, the industry needs “a new API Security stack” that we will present in the meetup.
