Vlada Rozova is a technology-driven, data science professional currently completing her PhD in Physics at Macquarie University. In this, she is using data science, machine learning and mathematical models to predict tumour growth and to gain insight into the mechanisms of cancer progression and metastasis. She is particularly interested in using deep learning for computer-aided diagnosis and developing tools for personalised medicine.
Vlada started her journey as a Data Scientist exploring treatment for multiple sclerosis and optimising therapeutic doses for future trials. She has since worked predominantly in the biomathematics sphere and pharmaceutical industry using her skills in Python and R to facilitate research into a cure for cancer.
With a passion for learning and teaching, Vlada prides herself on an ability to break complex things into simple pieces, and loves watching students "get" something for the first time.
