San Francisco
Susannah is a San Francisco-based designer, graphic storyteller, and design educator. She believes in using design as a tool for change, a focus that started early in her career at a branding and marketing firm for nonprofits. This passion later led her to The New York Times, where she helped fund important journalism and set new digital advertising standards as senior art director for T Brand, The Times’ award-winning in-house branded content studio. Today, she leads projects for nonprofits, start-ups, and small businesses, ranging from digital and presentation design to content and brand strategy. Susannah also received her M.A. in Food Studies in 2020, and is currently merging her passion for food and design by writing and illustrating a graphic novel about birthday cake.
Susannah has been teaching visual design at GA since 2017. Since then, she has contributed to both the UX and visual design curricula and developed several design-related workshops and bootcamps; she is also a member of GA's Visual Design Product Advisory Board.
In recognition of her exemplary service in the classroom, Susannah has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program.
