Dr. Wendel is a behavioral social scientist who serves as HelloWallet’s Principal Scientist. He conducts original experimental research on savings behavior and coordinates the research efforts of HelloWallet’s advisory board of behavioral economists. Steve recently authored the book Designing for Behavior Change for O’Reilly Media, which describes a step-by-step approach to applying behavioral economics and psychology to products that help people change their daily routines and behavior. He is the co-founder of Action Design DC, a meetup of over 900 practitioners and researchers building products to help users take action via behavioral economic techniques.
