Senior Web Technologist and Distinguished Faculty Member, General Assembly
Chicago-born, Iowa-raised, LA-seasoned, and now NYC-flavored, Sonyl started his career as a graphic designer focusing on Web which led down the slippery slope to becoming a full-stack developer instead. With an eye towards the client use case and conversation with the creative side, he prides himself on taking a holistic approach to development.
He’s adept at constructing and architecting high-performance web applications, managing exceedingly spike-based traffic, managing vendor relationships, and advanced JavaScript development. With an eye to design, he likes solving new and novel challenges. Passionate about education, he's excited to have some great teachable moments complete with laughter and seeing the “aha!” moments in students’ eyes.
Sonyl is a General Assembly Distinguished Faculty member and serves on GA's Front-End Product Advisory Board.
