Shayla Hunter is the creator of The 100 Black Females Project and is a strategist at Egg Strategy in Denver. She earned a graduate degree from the Masters in Branding Program at The School of Visual Arts in New York City. Prior to that she studied visual arts and photography during her undergrad at University of Maryland Baltimore County. Some of her favorite things include photography, painting, being immersed in nature, and cooking at home. Her side project, The 100 Black Females Project began during her graduate studies with an initial goal of featuring the stories of 100 Black women and girls. Today, the project features over 200 voices (and counting) of Black women and girls across the country and some internationally. She conducts each interview and draws all of the illustrations.
