Roy is a UX Design Manager at Capital One, where he leads a team of designers creating and perfecting key experiences for consumer banking. Prior to Capital One, Roy spent the bulk of his career in media with stints at National Geographic and, most recently, The Washington Post. At The Post, he led visual and UX design for the Emmy-nominated digital experience, "The n-word: An interactive project exploring a singular word."
Roy has also taught design and typography courses as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University and Virginia Commonwealth University, where he earned a BFA in Communication Design. Roy lives in D.C.'s Shepherd Park with his wife, Alyssa and 13-year-old Maltese, Basil. An outdoor person at heart, Roy enjoys running, hiking and bicycling along D.C.’s many trails.
