Raphael Sperry is an architect, a sustainable building consultant, and human rights advocate. He is President of Architects / Designers / Planners for Social Responsibility, where he leads national campaigns to ban the design of spaces that violate human rights and to promote restorative alternatives to incarceration. As a co-chair of the USGBC’s Social Equity Working Group he has helped author pilot credits for social equity in the LEED™ rating system. He is an Associate at Arup, where he consults on net positive design for buildings that regenerate energy, water and natural systems. He also helps shape Arup’s efforts to incorporate human rights and the UN Sustainable Development Goals into corporate policies and building projects.
