Ute Stephan is Professor of Entrepreneurship at King’s College London, Honorary Professor at UCL’s Department of Psychology and at Aston Business School. Ute has been named a Fellow of the International Association of Applied Psychology. She is an expert on entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, culture and wellbeing. Recent research investigates resources and drains on entrepreneurs’ well-being and mental health, and how they can cope with stress and be resilient.
Ute’s research is published in internationally leading academic journals, has been featured in the media including the Financial Times and Bloomberg, has won multiple international awards, and attracted a total of over GBP 3 million of funding from: the European Commission; the UK Government; UK Research councils; Charities; and German Government Institutions. Ute led several projects on entrepreneurship commissioned by UK Government Departments and serves on the boards of two international non-profit organizations. Ute is a certified social skills and leadership trainer, and prior to academia worked as a consultant and trainer for private, public and third sector organizations.
