Morgan Curran

Design Studio VP, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

Morgan Curran is currently the Design Studio VP at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, leading a team of 60 user experience, visual, audio visual, animation and character designers, focused on delivering next generation learning experiences for K-12 students, teachers and parents. His focus is on integrating this team around 'Content 2.0' user-centered design processes that work across both digital and traditional print media, to create learning ecosystems that help K-12 students learn in a holistic and personalized way – adapting to the context, knowledge-level and pace of each student. At HMH we're leveraging UX to answer the question: "What are better ways for kids to learn in the digital age?"

Prior to this, Morgan led the User Experience Design capability for Digitas Boston, with additional responsibility for Chicago and Detroit UX teams. Over 7 years there, he built, and managed a team of UX Designers with diversity, range and depth across all digital experience media, and was responsible for client collaboration and leadership on strategic UX direction (Cool Stuff!) for all types of digital work with fortune 100 clients.
