Monina Velarde
Design Director at R/GA, Mentorship Chair at AIGA Chicago
Monina is a designer, illustrator, ukulele player, and community builder who fights the good fight with armor of optimism. She is a Design Director at R/GA where she works on a range of projects from social media campaigns to branding/identity. Most recently she traveled across the Lone Star state creating a series of film documentaries on multi-generational Texas cattle ranchers. She’s currently serving as the Mentorship Chair on AIGA Chicago’s Board of Directors. For Monina, creating great design is rewarding, but watching others make meaningful connections and reach their full potential is even more so. If you happen to cross paths with Monina at an event, feel free to say hi. :)
