    Micah Wierenga

Software Engineering Instructor Lead, General Assembly

    Denver

Micah Wierenga is a software engineer who enjoys participating in the journey of software engineering students as they shift careers or up-skill in their current roles. Micah started his career as an editor, writer, and project manager, but realized that programming was far more fun and interesting. So, he went through General Assembly's Software Engineering course as a student, and he promptly landed a job with a real estate software company called booj before joining GA as an instructor.

These days, you can find Micah daydreaming about better ways to articulate complex concepts to those who want to learn to be exceptional software engineers. In his spare time, Micah enjoys watching movies and playing guitar.

    As one student describes Micah:

"It has been an absolute blessing to have been able to learn from Micah. He possesses an incredible combination of intellect, patience, curiosity, and drive that truly stands out. His calendar is often completely booked with meetings during which he is truly helping the members of my cohort, and it’s clear that he regularly spends large amounts of his personal time creating additional tools and resources for our class. Micah truly cares about his work and the people around him, and I will always be grateful for having him as an instructor."
