    Mia Klitsas

    Co-Founder, Moxie

    Melbourne

Mia Klitsas is a Melbourne based entrepreneur and business owner with a passion for brand development, social entrepreneurship and women's rights.

Whilst studying a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) at RMIT, Mia and her now business partner identified a need in the women's personal care market for a range of products that were not only high quality, but also stylish, feminine and functionally and conveniently packaged. When Mia couldn't find a women's personal care product to suit my needs, she decided to design her own.

In 2005, Mia co-founded the business, Millie & More and launched the 'Moxie' brand just six months later in early 2006. Moxie provides a full suite of women's feminine hygiene products (tampons, pads, liners and more recently, an Australian Certified Organic tampon range), all beautifully and conveniently packaged in reusable and recyclable tins.

In 2013, Mia helped champion the launch of an initiative called ‘Pads for Pads’, whereby we use a portion of the profits generated by the sale of Moxie products to provide young Ugandan school girls with sustainable, reusable 'AFRIpads' menstrual hygiene kits and education, allowing them to continue their schooling, uninterrupted by their periods. The project has thus far supported almost 9,000 girls and counting.

Mia was proud to be named Telstra Young Businesswoman of the Year for Victoria in 2014 and enjoys public speaking - particularly at girls' schools, sharing her experiences in running a business and growing a global brand, as well as the importance of being the voices and drivers of positive change for women worldwide. Mia is also an active member and incoming Board Member of Entrepreneur's Organisation (EO) VIC Chapter.
