Maria started her career in education as a special education teacher in New York City. Quickly, she realized she had knack for instructional design and coaching. She began teaching graduate education classes, and gravitated towards the "how to teach" methods courses. She shifted her focus to remote education five years ago. She adapts in-person curriculum to the online landscape, and developed the "How to Teach Online" onboarding course to train new instructors how to teach in this exciting medium. She has developed a Framework for Effective Facilitation which provides explicit direction on how to prepare and deliver dynamic and purposeful trainings and workshops.
