Maik Lutze is Head Of Design APAC&EMEA at Citibank. Starting his career in the late 1990s, Maik's first encounter with creative teams was characterized by the dotcom era’s insatiable thirst for talent. In its wake he experienced the intricacies of founding his own business and running a creative team from his own pocket. Following a timeout to learn coding he moved to Interone/BBDO Beijing to take the position of digital ECD for BMW, MINI, Canon and Castrol and to build a creative department of 40 across two cities.
In Singapore he now runs a design team that drives the UX/UI for Citibank’s digital transformation. Having worked through 3 industry-shaking economic shifts, Maik has learned a thing or two about the challenges and opportunities of hiring and what makes teams functional and successful on both, agency and client side.
