Lizzie Ellis is the Analytics Manager at AFSCME, the nation's largest public sector employee union. She leads the Analytics team at the International Union headquarters in Washington, DC, to help affiliates across the country make smart, data-driven decisions when engaging their membership. She has been a data engineer for the past 5 years, with previous roles at the Democratic National Committee and Hillary For America. A 2016 recipient of the DCFemTech Powerful Women Programmers award, Lizzie is one of the co-captains of Code for DC, the local Code for America brigade of civic tech volunteers. She is obsessed with using technology to make people's lives easier, and is on a never-ending quest to reduce the amount of jargon used in the industry.
