    Laura Zavelson

Laura Zavelson teaches both entrepreneurship and marketing, most recently at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at UNC-Chapel Hill and previously at Elon University. She is an experienced founder/CEO, building a software company that was acquired in 2010 as well as an award-winning creative services firm. She was the lead Entrepreneur in Residence at Launch, a venture accelerator and is an active mentor for Venture for America.

Through mentoring students and entrepreneurs over the last 5 years as well as her personal experience, she realized that women experience entrepreneurship differently than men. Specifically, that it is time to partner with women entrepreneurs so they can manage, lead and define success on their own terms rather than trying to fit into the startup models created (mostly) by men.
