    Vice President, Education & Workforce, Dallas Regional Chamber

    Lanet is the Vice President of Education and Workforce for the Dallas Regional Chamber. She coordinates the DRC’s public education policy efforts, supports various education initiatives and serves as the DRC’s liaison with Dallas ISD and other public education entities.

    On the state level, Lanet serves as Vice Chair of the Texas Long-Range Plan for Public Education and on a statewide Pre-K policy collaborative. Locally she serves on the Leadership ISD Board of Directors, Early Matters Policy Council and Alignment Council, Commit! Partnership Educator Effectiveness Task Force, Dallas ISD P-TECH Impact Board, Urban Teachers Leadership Council, the UTD Teacher Development Center Advisory Committee, and as facilitator of the Richardson ISD Strategic Plan Student Learning Design Action Team.

    A long-time area advocate for public education, Lanet served for 18 years as an elected member of the Richardson ISD Board of Trustees. Lanet is a graduate of Leadership TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) and earned the designation of Master Trustee. Lanet is also a graduate of Leadership Richardson and serves as an elder at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. She is actively involved in state and national public education advocacy organizations, as well volunteering extensively in Richardson and Richardson ISD. She has been awarded the Texas PTA Life Membership and the National PTA Life Achievement Award, and was named 2017 Education Outstanding Woman of Today by the Richardson Altrusa Club.

    She holds a degree in journalism from Oklahoma State University and has worked professionally in the areas of media relations, crisis communications and education advocacy.
