Hello, my name is Kindy Tice, a Full Stack Developer by day that strives to build beautiful and meaningful things, both in front of the laptop and monitor screens but also in real 3D life. A mostly self-taught developer, my intellectual curiosity to learn the technologies of today and tomorrow brought me out to San Francisco shortly after college. While living the startup Bay Area hustle lifestyle, I proactively took on web development responsibilities at two ultimately successful startups. I supplemented my on-the-job learning with night classes both at the community college level and at various independent institutions around the City. This ultimately culminated in Dev Bootcamp, an immersive 12-week software development bootcamp. This experience reaffirmed my passion for software development, gave me a couple few lifelong friends and provided me with a pretty decent starting antidote for imposter syndrome.

A midwesterner at heart, Chicago is where I call home most-likely-probably-forever. Since moving here, I’ve worked as a web developer in the digital marketing agency space and most recently as the Lead Developer for Hornblower Cruises & Events. Simply put, I can’t think of anything more exciting to do with my life than becoming a lifelong student of technology. Teaching allows me to pay it forward for all those who helped me along my personal path. Selfishly speaking, it allows me to stoke my creative fire in the craft. This infectious enthusiasm, ideally in turn sparks the creative flame of anyone who joins me in the journey of learning. I look forward to finding connections in words, code and movement. Let’s build and break things together... just maybe we’ll find some beauty and meaning along the way!
