    Online

Justin is a Web Developer with a devotion to Problem Solving, Creativity and a growth Mindset. He became interested in Web Development and Software Engineering in college when he took an elective HTML course. The class opened up his mind to newer possibilities beyond just the four corners of college which brought him full immersion into the bootcamp experience. Prior to entering the tech industry Justin worked in Medicine as a Nurse. These days you can find Justin working with clients and bringing new ideas to life. In his spare time he plays video games, plays piano and loves to sing.

    IN CONVERSATION WITH JUSTIN:

What is your favorite technical skill to work with on your own projects and why?

My favorite technical skill would be JavaScript. On the frontend, I enjoy solving UI/UX challenges, and on the backend, I like structuring APIs and managing data flow

What is your favorite technical skill to teach to students and why?

My favorite technical skill to teach is JavaScript—especially when students begin to grasp functions, callbacks, and how data flows through an application

What is most important to you about teaching technical skills at General Assembly?

What’s most important to me about teaching technical skills at General Assembly is helping students build real confidence in their ability to solve problems. It’s not just about writing code—it’s about teaching students how to think like developers, break down complex challenges, and grow from mistakes

What advice do you have for anyone looking to learn technical skills to reach new career goals?

Start where you are, stay consistent, and don’t be afraid to get things wrong. Learning technical skills can feel overwhelming at first, but progress comes with practice. Focus on building small projects, ask questions often, and building a community. Remain curious and keep going at it.

What would you like to highlight about your experience in your technical domain outside of teaching?

Outside of teaching, I’ve worked on full-stack web applications, freelance projects, and even built tools to automate parts of my workflow. I love applying what I teach in real-world settings—whether it’s developing a feature-rich MERN stack app, debugging complex backend logic, or creating interactive UI experiences
