    John is a linguist and natural language processing engineer on the cartography team who works on building multilingual maps. After earning his B.A. in Linguistics at the University of Chicago, he earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins Center for Language and Speech Processing.
