Johanna Ostrich is the Creative Director at Beekeeper Group, a DC public affairs firm (think PR for causes). She leads the design team with a focus on telling complex advocacy stories in a clear and actionable way. She works on a variety of projects—websites, infographics, social campaigns, print materials—and is particularly interested in helping others get more comfortable with design and good design process.
Before joining Beekeeper, Johanna worked on the in-house design team at Kaiser Permanente, creating healthcare collateral focused on clear and simple messaging. She has also worked with clients like the YMCA, the Exposed DC Photography Show, and the Sweetlife Music + Food Festival.
Originally from Pensacola, FL, Johanna graduated from Tulane University with a BA in English and German. She also holds a Graphic and Web Design Certificate from the Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts. She is a proud three-time semi-finalist in the Washington Post Peeps Diorama Contest.
In recognition of her exemplary service in the classroom, Johanna has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program.
