Jithesh Ramesh

Jithesh brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and skills in Product Design. Starting as an Industrial Designer and then transitioning to Digital Product Design, he has worked in all aspects of product research, design and management over the last two decades.

Having worked in industry sectors like automotive, IT consulting, enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, software team productivity, construction digitisation, and financial transformation in start-ups, scale-ups and large enterprises, he brings a fair dose of pragmatic design thinking to the table.

In the early years of his design journey, he paved the way by studying Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial Design and then immersing himself in freelance website design work, consulting as a usability engineering analyst and evolving into interaction design for the green screen (CLI) to GUI transformation during the post-Y2 K era.

He is also a big advocate for helping new and emerging design talent to find their way in the ocean of design. He believes in being the mentor he needed when he was starting out in design. Over the last 6 years of his time in Australia, he has observed the huge demand for UX professionals and a lack of industry-ready thinking available for entry-level talent. He believes in sharing his experiences with students at General Assembly so they get a head start by not repeating the mistakes he made over the years.

He loves humanising technology and values learning by sharing. Anything to do with Design & UX will get Jithesh talking for hours. He also consults through Ditonium Studio to help startups in complex enterprise sectors to build the design muscle right from the start.
