Jie Hui is the owner and self-taught baker of Goobycakes, a bakery specialising in customised baked goods, from cookies and macarons to cupcakes and tiered cakes.
Jie Hui strongly believes that her food is the glue that bonds family and friends, completing special moments and occasions like birthdays, weddings, or any event that calls for a celebration.
Goobycakes started as a home-based business in 2012, then moved to a small space in Bukit Timah Shopping Centre in 2013. Without sufficient funds for extravagant marketing campaigns, Jie Hui turned to social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Dayre to share images of her works.
Through these platforms, she interacts with followers and potential customers, allowing them to get a glimpse of her private life and personal thoughts, building a loyal following online through her casual and sometimes intimate writing style.
A huge foodie & occasional traveller, Jie Hui also shares homemade recipes, food reviews and writes about her travel adventures.
