Jeong is Sr. Data Scientist at Microsoft where he helps enterprise partners adopt cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies.
He is currently serving as KDD Cup co-chair at the 2018 ACM SIGKDD conference and as Science Advisor at Conversion Logic, a start-up company that provides marketing analytics platforms.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Jeong was Chief Data Scientist at Conversion Logic. He also led the development of machine learning platforms at Demand Media. Previously, he co-founded Neofect that provides smart stroke rehabilitation solutions and Micro ML that provides lightweight machine learning technologies for IoT devices.
As an avid participant in machine learning competitions, Jeong has won numerous competitions including KDD Cup 2012 and 2015, and was ranked top 10 out of over 400,000 data scientists at Kaggle in 2015.
Jeong received both his Ph.D. in Computer Science and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California. He earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University.
