    Jenny Mannello

    Accessibility Specialist, WeCo Accessibility Services

    Minneapolis

Jenny Mannello earned an Associate of Science in Computer Application Development, with Minors in Technical Communications and Gender Studies, from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota. As a student intern in website design, Jenny heard WeCo Director of Accessibility Services, Sue Ann Rodriquez, speak in a Metro State UX/UI class, which sparked her desire to be part of WeCo’s accessibility mission. Post-college, Jenny landed a full-time Website Designer and Coordinator position for an international hospitality company, yet her desire to work with WeCo and contribute to genuine accessibility for people living with disabilities, was still central to her career goals. After completing a successful internship with WeCo in the summer of 2020, Jenny was invited to join the company’s Accessibility Team as an Accessibility Specialist, a few months later.

WeCo Accessibility Services is a mission-based consulting group founded and staffed entirely by digital technologists who live with disabilities. They work to help governments, businesses and nonprofit organizations make their websites accessible to people who live with disabilities in accordance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and US and international legislation. WeCo is not only blazing an employment trail to engage people living with disabilities as subject matter experts in digital communication accessibility, it is putting organizations in direct contact with professionals who can help them make their website and software truly accessible to customers who live with disabilities. WeCo Accessibility Services was named a 2019 Leading Disability Employer by the National Organization on Disability in Washington, D.C. on September 26, 2019.
