James joined Cigna in 2013 as the organization’s first in-house user-centered designer. In this role, James leads a range of discovery programs specifically crafted to help the organization gain a deeper understanding of stakeholders and consumers in the complex eco-system of healthcare. Leveraging his strength and experience in user-centered design thinking, James facilitates the translation of knowledge into powerful insights that lead to new solutions and growth strategies. James is currently leading efforts in key areas around health engagement and the future of retail models as they could apply to health care.
Prior to joining Cigna, James spend years working as an independent consultant focusing on helping organizations better understand their users and how they create winning solutions that resonate. He has worked in a range of fields from CPG, to new product development, to space design. In addition, James spent several years working for Dyson, the British vacuum manufacturer, leading research and new product development efforts.
