Melbourne
As a disenchanted engineer turned humanitarian property portfolio manager, James developed significant experience in designing and delivering major civil projects in roads, rail, urban water and natural resource management at both WorleyParsons and Alluvium Consulting.
Recently, James was Director of Business Development at Engineers Without Borders Australia, Australia's largest humanitarian engineering organisation. In this role, he was responsible for securing major long-term partnerships with government and the corporate sector, leading the organisation's 2020 Strategy, and transforming the volunteer network. Since joining Impact Investment Group, James has led the establishment of The Dream Factory in Footscray and the development of the masterplan at Younghusband Woolstores in Kensington.
Combined with background in advocacy and political science, James is passionate about the intersection between design, technology and social change. He is committed to impact investment as a major change pathway for values-aligned individuals and businesses.
He is also currently working with Steve Bracks and Peter Dawkins (Vice Chancellor of Victoria Uni) to establish the State Government's Metropolitan Partnership for the West of Melbourne.
