    James works with leaders and emerging leaders to develop skills in mental fitness and resilience, using mindfulness-based approaches. James has a PhD in behavioural psychology from the Institute of Positive Psychology and Education at the Australian Catholic University, focusing on the impacts of mindfulness training on resilience. Prior to that, James worked in public policy for 7 years, at the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Commonwealth Treasury. In addition to consulting, James is a lecturer in leadership and management at the University of Sydney Business School, in the Discipline of Work and Organisation Studies. James has an active research program that explores the impacts of mindfulness on employee engagement, commitment and leadership behaviours, and has published in several leading international peer-reviewed journals. As well as university teaching, James facilitates with Smiling Mind, a not-for-profit that aims to bring mindfulness meditation to schools and businesses.
