Jake Maxwell is a local workforce expert with the Salt Lake City Department of Economic Development. With over 12 years experience managing State and local workforce programming, talent attraction, and career pathway development, Jake has in intimate relationship with the workforce system. Meeting with 300 businesses per year, the need for talent attraction and cost savings in recruiting and training has become a clear point of focus.
With an additional focus on shrinking the opportunity gap in SLC, Jake has tackled large systemic changes in employment barriers such as Transportation Demand Management for our west side, child care infrastructure, and developing pipelines to short term intensive training.
Jake has delivered multiple sessions in the International Economic Development Council Annual Conference, participated in research paper development for the international EDRP think tank, serves on the Western Governors University School of Business Advisory Board, the SLCC Workforce and Economic Development Advisory Board, and has worked with hundreds of people and businesses to increase their growth and potential.
