    Hawzien Gebremedhin is a Vice President at FirstBank in Denver Colorado. Hawzien immigrated to the United States from Ethiopia’s Tigray region as a refugee at the age of one. Her personal "why" is to support marginalized people achieve their highest potential.

    Hawzien is passionate about creating diverse, equitable and inclusive spaces and does so both internally at FirstBank and externally in her communities. Hawzien is a leader in FirstBank’s Diversity Committee and is committed to using her platform to encourage other future leaders of color. Additionally, she leads FirstBank’s Black and African American Business Development Group who’s mission is to support the Black community achieve financial success while helping close the racial wealth gap.  

    Hawzien studied at Johnson C Smith, an HBCU in North Carolina, for a short time, and completed her education at the University of Colorado in Denver. She also holds a Diversity and Inclusion certificate from Cornell.
