Gwendolyn McCoy is a Senior Consultant at Diversity@Workplace Consulting Group leveraging her expertise in strategy, program and event design/management, and training and development to help companies foster inclusion, and attract/engage diverse talent.
In her previous role as an Enterprise Inclusion Leader at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA), Gwendolyn built and managed programs focused on increasing cultural competence, fostering inclusion, and recruiting, retaining and optimizing diverse talent. These enterprise-wide programs included D&I education and consultation, diversity and inclusion awards and recognition, employee resource groups, and diversity dialogues.. Her signature program, Women@Blue, focused on career development and girl empowerment and was recognized, along with other BCBSMA D&I programs, as Boston Business Journal’s Best Diversity Initiatives in 2014.
She has lent her expertise and resources in the community as a member of the Board of Advisors for the Huntington YMCA, a Community Partner of the Department of Youth Affairs at Prince Hall, Director of Analytics for the Boston Chapter of the National Black MBA Association, and on the Event/Fundraising Committee of Girls’ L.E.A.P. Gwendolyn is also on the Board of Encuentro Diaspora Afro (EDA), a non-profit that empowers the Afro-Latino community with an emphasis on middle and high school students. She recently led the planning of EDA’s Raising Our Voices/Alzando Nuestras Voces, a two-day conference exploring afro-identity across the globe. Gwendolyn chaired the Freedom Fund/Centennial Celebration Committee for the Boston Chapter of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 2011. Her awards and recognition include: 2015 NAACP’s Boston Chapter President’s Award, El Planeta’s Powermeter 100 in 2012 and 2013, and the McM Partner Award for her role in the award- winning Multicultural Marketing Ambassadors Program of BCBSMA. Her floral business, MS Creative Group—which focuses on artist management, small business marketing, and floral and event design—was featured in the United States Postal AD campaign Small Business Solutions.
