Gavin Teo is a General Partner at Altara Ventures, an early stage, Southeast Asia focused venture capital fund, where he invests in high growth technology startups. He presently serves as Board Director to Sampingan and Galen Growth and is a guest lecturer at the National University of Singapore.

Mr. Teo was formerly General Partner at B Capital Group, a growth equity fund in the US and Asia, where he ran the firm’s investment committee, launched the San Francisco office and served on the Board of Directors for Atomwise, AImotive, Bright.md, CXA Group, Fishbrain and SilverCloud Health. Mr. Teo started his VC career as an investor at Comcast Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Comcast and NBC Universal. Earlier in his career, he was a product manager for Farmville at Zynga, a management consultant at Bain & Company, and served in the Singapore Armed Forces.

Mr. Teo is based in his native Singapore. He grew up in Hong Kong and the United States. He earned his M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar, and earned his B.A. from Claremont McKenna College.
