Dr. Elizabeth Goins earned a Ph.D. in communication from The University of Texas at Austin, an MA in strategic communication from George Mason University, and a BA in communication and English from Wake Forest University. In graduate school, Elizabeth researched how technology shapes the culture and communication of organizations. Now she helps executives and MBA students refine their communication skills like public speaking, interpersonal dynamics, persuasive writing, and interviewing.
Elizabeth also teaches communication at the business schools of UT, Concordia University Texas, and St. Edwards University. She recently started a new business, The Competitive Collegiate, coaching undergraduate students to learn important life skills and reach their full potential.
Before coming to Austin in 2008, Elizabeth worked in public affairs in the Washington, D.C. area, where she also grew up. She loves local swimming holes, cooking, visiting California beaches, gardening, and nerding out about sports and culture with her fiancee, Mike.
