David Kil is currently Chief Data Scientist at Civitas Learning, building a family of SaaS connected analytics applications in the Data-Insight-Action-Learning (DIAL) framework to help students succeed. He is also serving as a scientific advisor to a precision health startup. Prior to CivitasLearning, he was Chief Science Officer at Humana and SKT Americas, building both enterprise and consumer health applications leveraging big data, social network, and networked sensors. He has also been building consumer health mobile apps for fun. His research interests encompass all aspects of data processing, machine learning, complex event processing, nudging, multi-level impact analysis, and real-world evidence analytics. He has published over 40 papers in various journals and conferences, as well as a book entitled "Pattern Recognition and Prediction with Applications to Signal Characterization" by Springer-Verlag. He holds 15 US and international patents and is active as a reviewer for journals and grant agencies.
