Chris Pleasants is an unapologetic data nerd who loves to use data to make the world a better place. As a Data Scientist at Featurespace, he does this by developing models that prevent people and organizations from being taken advantage of by fraudsters. He's also done work at AT&T, CDC, and non-profits in and around his home town of St. Paul, MN.
Chris came to the world of data science by an untraditional path, starting his career as a high school math teacher. As a graduate of General Assembly's Data Science Immersive himself, he loves being able to merge his love of data, love of teaching, and love of non-traditional tech education by teaching at General Assembly!
When Chris is not teaching or doing data science, he likes to spend time in the great outdoors hiking and bicycling, as well as reading and listening to podcasts.
