Catherine Bell is a UX Designer who helps digital tools answer human questions and respect human needs. She has been a professional designer and educator for 20 years, and has an MFA from California Institute of the Arts.
Her user-centered interactive projects include:
An app to make sure the evil villainess in a telenovela gets her scar makeup applied in just the right place.
An exhibition touch screen that tells the love story of a billionaire and the art that moved him.
A label in a museum that is actually a magnifying glass.
Software that lets your laptop daydream about transcendent flight.
Her creative clients have included David Byrne and Brian Eno, The Getty Museum, NBCUniversal, Trader Joe’s, j2 Global, and PBS. In 2015, she received an American Museum Association Muse Award.
Cathy loves to share the big ideas and little tricks that make UX an amazing practice. She lives with two little boys and one mountaineer.
