    Executive Director, Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

    Cameron Law is a Sacramento native who brings his passion and love for Sacramento as well as his experience in social ventures, venture capital, and management consulting to the Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, as the Executive Director. He is an active ecosystem-builder and is working through the Carlsen Center to make the Greater Sacramento region a premier hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. He personally values love and service and brings this intention to building the region and serving the community and its entrepreneurs.

    Prior to leading the Carlsen Center he served as the Executive Director of Social Venture Partners of Sacramento where he leveraged leaders in business, education, and the arts to create sustainable and scalable impact by reinventing philanthropy. He was responsible for strategic planning, fundraising, building collaborative efforts, and innovating the nonprofit sector.

    In addition to his work at the university, Cameron is highly active in the innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem where he is the coordinator of the iHub network, an organizer for a community economic development program, 1 Million Cups, where he works to empower and elevate Sacramento entrepreneurs growing a supportive ecosystem for innovation. Most recently he was selected to serve as the Sacramento organizer for Global Entrepreneurship Week by leadership at the Global Entrepreneurship Network. He serves on the leadership team and board of FourthWave.io, which is an accelerator for women-led tech businesses.

    Cameron also is civically engaged as he serves on the City of Sacramento’s Inclusive Economic and Community Development Investment Committee as well as the nonprofit boards of Square Root Academy, Neighborhood Wellness Foundation, Culture LabX, and the Northern California World Trade Center. Additionally, he engages as a volunteer as a venture partner at DiverseCity Ventures and as a coalition member of the Tech Funding Equity Initiative.

    Cameron has a Master of Business in both Social Impact & Sustainability and International Business from The University of Queensland, Australia as well as a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from UC Davis. He was selected in 2019 as a Sacramento Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree. He seeks to use his global perspective and passion for supporting entrepreneurs to build a thriving community and create a lasting impact.
