Brendan is a technologist attracted to organizations striving to make the world a better place. He started his career as an organizer recruiting volunteers for political candidates that he supported. After a few years in the political space, he saw there was a great need for analytics talent.
He started learning Python and SQL, which eventually led him to become a Data Engineer for the AFL-CIO in Washington DC supporting labor-friendly political candidates and a Data Scientist for Mayor Garcetti’s Innovation Team in Los Angeles helping launch pilot projects addressing key issues residents are facing. Currently, Brendan is a Data Engineer with Facebook supporting the company's human resources and diversity analytics.
