Chicago
Branden Marty is a Navy veteran with extensive experience working in complex and fast-paced operational environments from the flight decks of naval vessels to the C-suite and boardroom of a healthcare organizations. He is a strategist, coordinator and collaborator; dedicated to improving his community through service and advocacy.
He brings a wealth of knowledge on wounded warrior and veteran support services with whom he worked as the Navy’s Wounded Warrior Midwest Program Manager during his last tour on active duty. Through that experience he supported dozens of wounded, injured and ill service members in 16 states and their families, and developed relationships with military and veterans support organizations throughout the region.
Branden’s unique skillset led the Department of the Navy (DoN) to ask his assistance in submitting a bid from the City of Chicago to host the 2017 Warrior Games. He voluntarily led an effort to build up support from public and private stakeholders throughout the city and hosted multiple visits from DoN leadership to meet with Chicago leaders. This led the successful awarding of the Games to Chicago in May 2016 and the successful execution a year later in July 2017.
He has continued his interest in serving the veterans community and his entrepreneurial aspirations, by running a number of businesses focused on providing jobs, skills and training to homeless and at-risk veterans in growing industries: apparel, coffee and beer. Rags of Honor (ragsofhonor.us), Veteran Roasters Cup O’ Joe (veteransroasters.com) and RNR Beverage are all brands built and operating in Chicago employing veterans. Branden is also a founding board member of Combined Arms Chicago, a not-for-profit organization focused on providing "one-stop" support services for transitioning military, veterans and their families and facilitating an environment of collaboration among partner organizations who will be physically co-located to better support veteran needs.
Branden recently joined the team at Bridge My Return (BMR), supporting their efforts to provide a holistic solution, "a bridge", between service members and veterans as they transition into the civilian workforce and are better linked to rewarding careers and professional opportunities.
Branden resides in Chicago with his wife Stephanie and 3 children Amelia, Kate and Miles.
