A long time peer-to-peer champion, Ben co-founded RateSetter in 2014. RateSetter is a peer-to-peer lender which connects investors with creditworthy borrowers, using technology to replace traditional middlemen and reduce the costs of providing financial services. RateSetter was the first Australian peer-to-peer lending platform to open to retail investors with over 15,000 now using the platform. The platform also facilitates investments for self-managed superannuation funds, trusts, fixed income funds and the Federal Government's Clean Energy Finance Corporation, the cornerstone of its significant renewable lending activities.
Before RateSetter, Ben spearheaded Nexx New Zealand with responsibility for regulatory compliance processes, public relations and marketing strategy. Previously, Ben was a principal at Boston Partners providing advisory services in digital strategy, marketing and online product development. Clients included corporates, government agencies, listed companies and VC funded start-ups.
