Ashley is the founder of Ruby Sampson, a fashion utility brand for textured-hair women. The brand’s mission is to bridge the gap between retail and hair care for the curly-hair consumer with silk-lined clothing and accessories. Her products are currently sold on rubysampson.com, Shop Made in DC and Naturally Curly alongside the black hair care industry's leading brands. Since launch she has expanded her operations oversees to her grandmother's home in Georgetown, Guyana. In 2017 she invented the black hair care industry's first hair oil stain remover for silk, which she patented and pitched to Google with Black Girl Ventures. Her silk-lined headwraps have been featured in Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It on Netflix, Afropunk, StyleCaster and Essence Magazine to name a few. She is currently working on two additional patents.
