Arty Rivera is a Senior UX Designer at 3Pillar Global, where he helps clients understand their customers more deeply in order to create relevant, high-impact and successful products and experiences. He's worked directly with companies including Capital One, Synchronoss and CARFAX. He is also the Assistant Director of Design Thinking DC, which he spent 4 years growing into one of the largest professional meetups in Washington DC. DT:DC helps professionals from diverse backgrounds understand design thinking, and how to use it in their work and lives. Arty has a Bachelor's from Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Product Design. The Stanford d.school was his earliest influence in how he understands "human-centered design" (popularly referred to as "design thinking"). He believes that the human-centered design mindset is critical to high-level decision making for organizations to successfully tackle increasingly complex human problems in the world today.
